BackerKit is Sent!
over 6 years ago – Thu, Sep 07, 2017 at 12:48:07 AM

It's finally sent, everyone! We can make something punny about rolling and surveys but it's just been too exhausting! We really hope everyone is happy with the survey and is excited for some big updates coming on the creative side in the next few weeks. We actually have a play test set up with Mr. Donn this coming week in Ohio so that's going to be extremely fun! If anyone else has any questions, comments, or concerns just let me or Sam know and we'll get right on it. Thanks again everyone for your patience, you've all been super awesome and supportive and we take notice of those type of little things!

BackerKit Update!
over 6 years ago – Wed, Sep 06, 2017 at 10:45:34 PM

Hey Everyone!

It's Marc here. Just wanted to write a quick message. Spent the past 2 days pretty much all day and night individually putting in the discounts for the different tires. It took a lot of maneuvering with the Backerkit system since we had a lot of custom discounts that weren't standard equipped for their system. I believe that everyone should now be accounted for. Can the 5% early access BackerKit people please provide the final feedback so that we can ideally send out the final surveys later today! Thanks all :)

Publisher Announcement and BackerKit
over 6 years ago – Thu, Aug 17, 2017 at 01:13:24 AM

Hey everyone! We have a big announcement. Some of you have already been spoiled, some had guessed from the beginning, others (*AHEM DONN*), got to meet them in person! (Pictures Below)

Meet our publishers, Marc, Rob, and Rachel from Golden Bell Studios. Dungeon Dice is going to be a big part of the growth of Golden Bell Games, and will be branching off into many derivative mediums. One of which, a comic book for Dungeon Dice, is currently being written by Marc, Rob, and myself. I’m sure you remember that Lich Lost King art, right? Well that was Rachel! She will be one of the concept artists on the project and there are many more things to share as our partnership continues to grow and flourish. Now…a few words from them!

Hi all! It’s great to finally meet you. Many of us have already spoken! We had been helping Sam out from the very beginning of Dungeon Dice. When we partnered up what seems like years ago (but it’s really only been about 6 months) we decided to make this last campaign really special. We heeded every piece of advice that we possibly could and wanted to make the best experience for all of you long time backers while also making all the newcomers feel just as welcome! I think we had quite a success as our first venture together and hope you think the same thing. We’re proud to announce that we’ve just released the BackerKit; they require a 5% early access for the first couple of days so that we can spot any errors; so keep your eyes peeled and let us know if you iSpy anything! We also wanted to let everyone know a little snag that popped up and one that we had to resolve personally. For a couple of months, a certain unnamed company tried to claim ownership of the molds and wouldn’t allow any of us access to it for unknown reasons; however, we had one of our partners from Golden Bell fly out to Mainland China and resolve the whole issue. The good news? Luckily…we can continue making Dungeon Dice in a more streamlined manner without having to worry about our molds being tampered with by unknown factories. We were insistent on having the highest quality dice with stringent Quality Control with the greatest working conditions to minimize any errors that may have risen from oversight due to the sheer mass number of dice itself!

Now we’re moving on to production and we suspect that everyone is just as anxious as us to get in their next round of Dungeon Dice!

If you ever have any questions please never hesitate to message or email, Sam, Marc, Rob, Rachel, Jim or anyone on the Golden Bell team.

Who’s ready to roll?!

Love,
The Golden Bell-Potluck Dice-Dealing Duo!

Oh wait! Did we almost forget? Marc & Rob paid one of the biggest fans of Dungeon Dice, Mr. Donn, a special personal visit! We’ll be seeing you again, Donn!

New Art & Status Update!
over 6 years ago – Thu, Jul 13, 2017 at 01:12:03 AM

We know you're all ready to roll so we wanted to pop in with a mini update. We are hard at work on making this game perfect and had some new art assets come in that we wanted to share with you! Feast your eyes on these beauties that will decorate everyones shelves for years to come...oh and here is a preview of the art that will feature a new mat!

Hope that key won't jam and will still work!

 It's clobbering time!

What's in the chest?! It's a sketch of the final you've already seen but it's still pretty cool

It's coming along nicely. Wait till you see the front of it! Not finalized but it's getting there!

With that we wanted to leave you with another update everyone has been clamoring for. The pledge manager is on its way; our partners are working hard on negotiating to get the best deal for everyone and make sure that Dungeon Dice is taken care of properly every single step of the way so no one will have to worry. We will have some special surprises being unveiled when the PM is released so stay tuned for some future updates soon!

In the meantime; we stumbled upon this awesome looking Kickstarter that has only a few hours left that isn't something we wanted to miss out on sharing with you. Check it out!

...Before its too late! :O

Pledge Manger Update
over 6 years ago – Tue, Jul 04, 2017 at 12:27:31 AM

I just want to do a quick follow up to explain what, specifically, is going on.

We have a member of the team who has worked with pledge managers before, so we thought the process would be slick.  However, once you reach a certain amount of funding, the major pledge managers require you to sign a contract.  We weren't comfortable with some of the terms, and we're negotiating.

I thought some of you might like a more in-depth explanation for the delay.

The good news?  We fell quite a bit short of the dealer goal, but I'm going to release two of the wands anyway.  Hopefully this will help make up for any inconvenience.  (I know it will be a little frustrating when we finally sort things out and you have to try to remember what you pledged for!) (For the record, the healing wand didn't playtest well, because there was no reason to spend experience in the middle of a fight to heal when healing doesn't work during fights!)

 Design a Die

We're working with the grand prize winner, and currently testing two possible dice ideas.  The Doppleganger, and a perform one-use.  I'm imagining there will be more excitement about a potential doppleganger, but it will require playtesting a few different ideas to see what works best.

If you have suggestions for a doppleganger mechanic, feel free to post them below.
